I somehow broke a little bit of plastic inside my rear view mirror while adjusting it. I am guessing it was brittle in the cold. Regardless, the dealer says I have to replace the whole mirror for $550 excluding labor.

Anyone had the same problem or know where I can get a cheaper replacement?

Thanks in advance

I was looking for similar information for replacing the rear view mirror in my 97 C280. I came across the following YouTube link for the W210 series and believe this to be quite helpful. YouTube - MB W210 mirror removal

Someone let us know if this is not accurate.

Im almost positive all the mirrors are the same...
These guys are tricky, but all you have to do is yank on it. Its spring loaded, so it does take some power. But the back should come down and I belive the front has the hook. Just pull down and back. Your going to think its about to break...just pull a bit more and it will come off.
