Hi, I am about to pull apart the intake manifold on my '84 500 SL, but I can't figure out how to pull off the electrical connector on this, I think it's a thermo switch, on the front driver side of the manifold. Anyone know the trick? It's hard to tell, but it's an oval shape on the back side.

I'm a newbie at this level of engine repair and about to tackle my biggest project by far, so I hope I don't get in over my head!

The plastic part will have a J shaped securing catch that needs prying to allow removal.
Extra care is needed not to brake it and a minimal bend.
The catch still may brake as they go brittle with age.

J catch is visible on the image.
Cannot remember if there's another one on the back.

Thank you for the tip. I was able to pry the J catch away and remove the connector without breaking it.
