I mounted mine next to mirror. Just take the dome light out and tap into the Grey wire. And find a ground any ground will work. Then reinstall the dome light. The detector will come on when you start the car and go off when you remove the key. The only annoying thing is that is goes on and off twice before it shuts off, (because the power is the same as the dome light). But other than that it works great. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks, I'll look at that tommorow.

So did it work? or did you find another source?

I have had no success getting the Passport 7500 to power-up off of any fuse in either the interior, engine or trunk fuse bay. The detector works with the cigarette lighter adaptor but not thru the direct wire to the fuse box. I will look at tapping into either the cig lighter live wire or dome light over the weekend. Any thoughts on how to pop off the dome light ??

I'll look at that tommorow.

It's just two little stainless steel clips on the rear of the light assembly. Just use a small screw driver to push the clips back and the light will drop down. (just let it hang while you tap into the grey wire with a red stripe)
Let me know if you need anymore info.
