Even uglier in person, I was lucky to sit in one at the dealership, when I bought my car 2 years ago....for the money I would get a S65 and bank the rest.

If there is anyone out there looking at the $1.47 million price-tag on that limo, and thinking of getting a half dozen while those low prices last, please at least consider these comparably priced alternatives before reaching for that check-book.

1. A diamond-studded, fully airconditioned dog kennel for Fido, with plasma TV.
2. Gold plated bathroom fittings for all the private jets in your stable.
3. A pair of color-coordinated his'n hers Robinson R44 helicopters.
4. A vast tract of ocean-front property in Arizona that I have for sale(cash only).

I'd take it

Rolls Royce certainly didn't make beautiful

Did anybody notice the $3100.00 for the curtains? And people thought a grand was a lot for our cars.

I think the Rolls Royce Silver Seraph and Corniche are stunning, modern, yet with classic lines and looks. Here's the Corniche:

Could it be the next "Popemobile"?

It could be that they were trying to duplicate the "Popemobiles" from days past?

Clearly there is precedent and at a million four, he's about the only one left that can afford it.... And out of pocket change...

And yes, that's a 126 version too! LOVE the W100 Landaulet!

And I think it is beautiful.

And don't forget about the Bentley Continental?

I can see what they were trying to do with the Maybach. They were trying to replicate the cars of old where the driver was separated from the occupants

$1.4 million?

I think I'd rather have one of each of these:

Agreed. That '54 SL is a work of art..beautiful from every angle..even the backside..*sigh*..and I love nice backsides.. =)

You just reminded me how many car enthusiasts and critics are saying what a bad job MB did with the styling of the new SL, which I couldn't agree more with. It would have behooved them to have made it look more classic..because I think the thing is bordering on ugly and last I read they weren't selling as briskly as MB thought they would.

Are you talking about the new SLS? The new Gullwing?

Funny enought I just realized that MB Westminster is selling that Laundaulet, I bought my car from them! They are quite the dealership.

Nighbtbird got to disagree the new SL is a truly beautiful looking car, as with all the SL models, they did a gret job penning the design.
