There's a Louis Greco in Johnson City, TN with 2 190e's for sale..I think !!.. since his email reply was near impossible to understand and went on for a full page. Totally restored 1986 2.3 looks too good to be true for the price.

Any feedback about this gentleman ?

Much Appreciated

Google/Search came up empty for me. Thought he might be known in the MB community. He talks about having $20K worth of MB specialized tools/diagnostic equipment among other things.

Just thought I'd ask here on the Forum.

HOLY CRAP that is WAAAAAAAAY too much money, I just bought my 86 2.3 for $500. and mine has 120k miles, and real leather. That is not worth $7k, I dont care what has been done to it. For that kind of money you could have a 2.3-16v, DO NOT SPEND THAT MUCH ON A PLAIN OLD 2.3!

Just looking at the car makes me want to do that to mine...

Look at how clean that engine is... Superb job with the restoration on who ever did it.

I agree ^^^

At best I could probably get 2.5-3k for my car.

Given it has 153K on it (despite the engine being rebuilt) I would give him anywhere between 5-5.5k for that car, also it is a regular 2.3, not a 16 Valve. If it were, I would give him the 7K no problem.

probably one of the cleanest 190E i have seen (at least in pics). too bad its priced way above what the car is worth, restoration costs notwithstanding. would have been good if a member here would of gotten it.

you guys are nuts.. that care IS worth 7 GRAND

if he stopped driving it after he restored it, then all parts are new

look at the suspension.. bilstein sports and hrs cost almost a grand alone and they are new

all the wood trim is real expensive at mercedes, even the window switches ( 78 bucks for one, if they are OEM )

all the new engine work done is worth another grand or 2

rare amg memory seats

exhaust is new ( another grand or so )

new ex manifolds

PLUS the car itself

now i have no interest in the 2.3 myself, but for what it is, its DEF worth it.. that car will go another 200K without much fuss

by all means if you feel its worth it, go for it. its just that i personally would rather get a cheaper one and spend the extra money else where. but even if i was looking to spend that much on a 190, i would look for a 16v or a 2.6 with a 5spd, or at least something a little more rare than a plain Jane 2.3. just my 2 cents.

I should mention he has, as noted in the Ad, quite a few extra parts which I would not be interested in..so my offer would reflect that cost reduction.

Wow! You kids go pay 7 large if you think it's a good investment. To me, when someone dumps that much money in a car and then turns around and sells it tells me something isn't right.
