Hello Folks, Not the original radio to my 1998 E320 because the code in the owners manual does not work. Does anyone know how to get a code besides dealing with the crazy dealership? Thank you so much in advance. Nel
Noted. I get you, not that we don't trust people, but one can retrieve codes via the dealer when they provide the serial number and the dealer can handle the situation and ask for whatever proof of ownership that the owner can provide and work with that.Benzworld adminstrators and hosts have stacked hands and the site policy is that
we will not openly support radio code retrievals. Leave it to the dealer or other
legitimate services. To casually assist with security features such as this may
put Benzworld in a position of liability. Thanks raymond-
I hear you too.Noted. I get you, not that we don't trust people, but one can retrieve codes via the dealer when they provide the serial number and the dealer can handle the situation and ask for whatever proof of ownership that the owner can provide and work with that.
Yeah, for me, one time when I contacted the MB via email for previous warranty/service history for my car, I just asked them for the code and they emailed me back with everything the same day. I think they did ask me to provide them with some proof of ownership, it could be the title, or proof of registration with your name and the VIN. Very easy process that can be done online without calling/talking on phone. A bit off topic, but I did try by best to squeeze the VMI report out of them but they just flat out reject to give that out, I guess because of privacy as it has the original owner's name on it.I hear you too.
Contact the MB stealership, with the serial # of the oem HU and they will provide FoC, or search online. Plenty of online resources
