Is there a way to bypass the headlight washers on my 2003 e500? I have a leak on my hose near the driver's headlight, I can see it drip daily and I get that LOW WASHER FLUID message after 1 or 2 days. I'm looking to plug it up near the washer tank, but still be able to use it to spray on my windshield. Is this possible without getting some sort of error message? I never use those headlight washers anyway. I don't want to take off the bumper and to fix this either.

I'm sure you can simply pull the two hoses and rig a plug with some hose clamps.

But you don't have to take off the bumper, just the belly pans, to get to the hoses. An 8mm socket, a jack and 2 jack stands and you are are good to go. I'ts just some hoses to the sprayers and shouldn't take but 30 minutes to run down. Why not just replace the leaky hose? It sure would be simpler to do and keeps the car "stock", which is important if you go to sell.
