I was wondering if anyone has removed front fenders before? If so what did you do about the sealant that runs the length of the top of the fender? I am trying to get the fenders off of my parts coupe without any damage.
Thanks
Jon

I'll be repainting my 300D this summer, with any luck. I'll need to remove one of the fenders to take care of some rust on the other side. Something I noticed when I looked at it just a minute ago - I don't have any plastic inner fenders! Did these show up on later production runs, or do all 77-85 W123s have this inner fender?

My car has been repainted in the past...I'm thinking the inner fenders might have gotten tossed at some point in its life. What do you all think?

The plastic inner fenders started in 1982.
