I have a '97 E420 with the original 16" wheels. I also have a '96 SL with 18" AMG monoblocks. While I like the amg's on the SL and like the way they look on E's, does anyone regret putting them on their E? My SL is staggered, if I do put them on my E should I stagger or go 18x8's? Whats the preference other than looks?

I have had 18's on my '01 E320 Sport for 2 weeks now and definitely notice a difference in my ride. However, if I had a choice to do it over again, I would stay with the original 17's.

I have chrome 18x8 AMG MonoBlock Twin Spokes and have 235/40-18 Kumho 712's on them. I paid $1285 mounted balanced, taxed and shipped to my home. The one thing I had to do was get new bolts, cut them down 1/2". This added $50 for the chrome lug bolts and that's it. I still have the chrome 17" Sport wheels that came on the car.

I accept the tradeoff in ride quality in my SL as I don't drive it that much and it feels more like a sport car with the 18" AMG's, but I don't know if I want to give up the quality of ride for the better more aggressive look on the E. Not being able to rotate the tires is somewhat of a concern now as well as treadlife.
