I'm thinking of picking up an E55 but was wondering about possible service issues given the relatively rarity of the engine.
Has anyone experienced problems with service?
If anyone here is from the SF Bay Area, where do you bring your E55 for service and are you satisfied with the service that you've received?
Thanks,
Go for it!

I haven't had any problems (10K miles so far) with the engine or transmission. It should be more reliable than the normal engines, as it is not a mass produced engine. There is one person who posts here who had to have the transmission replaced, I think on a '99. Check out the older posts.
rich, '01 black/charcoal

Had mine 5 months with no service calls necessary.

Each engine is hand built by one person and I have not heard of anyone every blowing an E55 engine.

Guess if it needed service it could be a few weeks to get parts, but you would get that with any German brand.
