I've got 124k on mine and I've owned it almost a year. Replaced the TCM (my fault, spilled a drink), new serpentine belt and clutch fan assembly, and a brake light switch. Putting new rear tires on today as one has a leak. Toyo Proxes with maybe 8k miles. Sigh...

I've got 300k kilometers. It shows 375 hp and 560 nm on dyno. But I decided to make porting of heads. When I take of heads I see that on one cylinder I have scratch, and decided to make full repair of engine. Now I have new engine with 300 km.

Does anyone out there have over 130,000 miles on a 2005-2006 E55 AMG? I was looking at one and was wondering if with that many miles are they worth buying for around 20 grand?
That's a W211. Different animal since it's supercharged. Don't know if it's "worth it" but that's what you'll pay...minimum. I wanted at least a 2003 E55 but couldn't touch one for under 15k with 160,000 miles on it. To replace my 01 E55 I would have had to spend 13k to get the equivalent of what my totaled E55 was. I settled for the 2002 W215 CL55. Updated like the W211 although not supercharged.

I would go to the W211 forum and raise the same question. They are beautiful and crazy fast!!

Hello. I haven't been around this forum much since I sold my personal W211 2005 E500 sport a couple years ago. However, I just picked up a silver 2000 E55 with 206k miles on it.

I actually intended to buy it to sell again (have a small hobby dealer business on the side with a friend), but I decided to title it myself and drive it for awhile. We never look at cars with this high miles, but the owner talked me into seeing it.

The W210 era E-Class is my favorite. The car is super straight, two owners, no accidents etc., and I paid less than what we often sell the same year Honda Civics--so nothing to risk.

I am going through the fluids/filters this week. They are dirtier than I'd like, but whatever. I always find it interesting how people spend their money on their cars. This was babied cosmetically, but the cabin air filters could have choked a horse. Same with the two K&Ns under the hood.

However, it runs flawlessly. No codes, leaks or other problem at all. I am having the driver seat redone next week since there are just a couple small tears. Mobil1 oil service yesterday and I am picking up a transmission filter and gasket from the MB dealer tomorrow (only a few dollars more than BAP--actually a little less at dealer cost). Not much of a break on the trans fluid, but I think I will still go with the dealer fluid. I also need to pickup a Southwest navigation CD (so I can see what roads existed in 2000!) and a CD magazine for the trunk.

I lilked my W211 a lot, but these W210 E55s are just stunning looking in my opinion, very timeless in their design. And the quality (again, in my opinion) far exceeds that of the W211. Not to mention the boundless power--the kids like being pasted to the back seats. And it seems to be geting about 18mpg if I stay out of it.

Anyway, enjoy your E55s!

I've just bought a 1998 E55 New Zealand new, arctic silver. 207km. Beautiful!
The prev owner had to replace the CPS just before I bought it. It has had the auto serviced but nothing else major required nor anticipated.
I love the w210-ness of it, two tone leather seats, rumbly power.
The motor is sound but a head gasket is slightly leaky, I've fixed the sunroof myself with the help of this forum, I fixed the nonfunctioning passenger electric headrest with a soldering iron for nothing also with help of this forum, a rear door catch had come loose, the parktronic sensors have 3 that don't work, and the becker stereo and CD changer don't work well. I'm going to treat the old girl to a recovered steering wheel (a new one is in stock in Germany but I was quoted $3600NZ for it!), aircon refridgerant, new stereo (though won't look as nice and new Becker looks to tricky to obtain), headlamp paint and mag wheel detailing, and a tow bar so I can move my bikes around. Mercedes NZ apparantly allowed a factory towbar here even though not allowed in Europe.
I love the sunroof, almost no turbulence at 100km/h, and the overtaking urge which makes short straights seem like acres of room in which to pass dawdlers. If I could change anything without compromise it would just be to reduce the low speed pothole jiggling and mild road noise from the near-new proxes. I'm tempted to drive it daily. The kids love it.

129K on mine and she gives me headaches every once is a while. I throw a little money at her and she always comes back. It seems at this stage in life about 1500-2000 a year to keep her tip top.

Acquired a 2000 E55 AMG

From an Orange County MB dealer last week with 146K miles with Tectite gray paint. Still in the honeymoon phase. Everything was fixed by the dealer including brake job and new rear tire.
