Hi Guys

Does anybody have any experience with these batteries? Obsessed Garage on youtube just fitted one to a BMW. Seems interesting. I like the dedicated reserve for emergency jump starts.

Thanks!
Ollie

At $900 it’s a large portion of the value of a w220.

Does lithium allow discharge without damage ? I can see how it would be great for a rarely driven car . You can let the car sit for months , hit the button and drive away and it won’t hurt the battery to drain down so much .

I rarely drive all my w215 coupes and Can’t keep them hooked to a charger since they are street parked . My battery life degraded substantially if I let them run down

I have some years experience with LiFePO4 batteries in my boat. They are fast and easy to charge, lightweigth and durable. 100 ah each (2 p) replace 4 lead batteries of the same size. I would not have them in my w220 S500 due to explosion danger (0verheating), and cost. I paid $650 a p. and think $900 for one 40 ah «Antigravity» (they are lightw. , but not flying - ridiculous name) is FAR too much. A good AGM start and stop battery 100 ah strong for half the price is my choice.

If your car is regularly driven , with no special situations Resulting in dead battery possibilities - like extended Airport parking , or periodS of storage at your home , there is no need For such a specialized battery
