When I took my 560SL in for service last month the manager pointed out I was missing the rubber grommet for the antenna mast. I never noticed it missing - quick easy fix - around $10 on eBay, remove the antenna from the trunk (boot), soapy water on grommet and push in - reinstall antenna. Thought I would share in case anyone else never noticed - I went back and looked at photos from last year and sure enough there was no grommet - how in the world did I miss that?

Good job. I just ordered one and a new antenna mast, the previous owners daughter had taken the car through a car wash with it up, snapped it off completely.

Just did mine this weekend. PO had not noticed and trunk was wet when I got it. No rust thank goodness.

The mast grommet was missing when the car was offloaded from the transporter when I bought it. I replaced it right away through MB.

Within five years, my replacement was cracked and breaking up.

Only 12 bucks and 15 minutes to install, I’ll take it even if it only lasts 5 years to keep the trunk dry.
