The part number for the seat recognition sensor is 163 910 13 50. Of course you understand that this item has to be purchased new and the seat has to be taken apart to install it.

The part number that you have for the ABS unit does not show up as a valid part, but the correct part is 163 431 04 12 as shown below.

You can try calling this salvage yard in the U.K. and see what they have.

found a new seat sensor for $250, the fact that my passenger seat is on the left hand side of my ML, will that make a difference to your ones on the right hand side???

I thought you were aware of the fact that the "sensor" is actually a pad/mat that is part of the seat cushion, as illustrated below.

If you didn't purchase it new, the only other alternative would be to find a seat in a salvage yard, buy it and dismantle it and install a used sensor in your seat, one that which you had no if it was working or not.

You haven't said where you found this sensor. If the sensor number corresponds to the M/B number then it shouldn't matter.

I believe for those 3 warning lights, you should check your brake pedal switch, $12 at dealer, then reset the system by turning steering wheel from lock to lock (from far left to far right).

I had replaced this switch before i went looking for an ABS unit, so that was ruled out

Did you also reset your steering angle sensor? There is also two other sensors associated with this system, yaw rate and lateral acceleration. Many people had the ABS pump replaced and spend a lot $$$$ just to find out later that it was actualy one of these two sensors going bad.

no i havent done anything with those sensors??? it had a "high pressure in front wheel circuit" fault so the ABS unit was faulty anyway

Just need to get it back onto a diagnostics machine again :crybaby2:
