Sometimes, the windows goes down, the trunk opens, but the roof does not move, although i can hear the engine trying. If i try again, later that day, it works perfectly.

Other times, when i try to put the roof down, the red button just flashes and nothing moves. This can also happen with roof down. The curious thing is that, if i turn off the engine, and then back on, the roof works fine.

Thx Bazzle. But this has no logic: the switch can either be broken or good. The buton flashes, the roof does not move; after engine restart, everything works ok. I don`t touch anything other then the ignition key.

Its the 3 switches in the roof. S69/1, S69/2 and S69/3. I had the EXACT same symproms and since I changed the switches, I have NEVER had a roof problem again.

Having a somewhat similar issue; occasionally, the top won't open for me. The rear deck lid opens, the windows go down, but the pins in the roof seem "stuck" in the windshield. If I push gently on the headliner, it will budge loose and operate normally.

I think the mechanism needs some cleaning/lubrication, but I'm not sure what to use and don't want to make a mess of it. Any recommendations would be appreciated (I've searched an apparently don't know the right terms - keep running into the discussions of switch replacements).

Thanks in advance.

^ Thanks as always Bazzle.

Is the lithium lube usable on door hinge components too, or anything else of interest?
