Yesterday when I parked my 2014 E-Class and removed the key I heard a "beep". The analog clock's hands started running very fast around the dial. I put the key back in and the clock stopped at the correct time. It worked fine afterwards.

Anyone else noticing this happen with their cars? I wonder if it was an electrical glitch or the clock was resetting itself.

I saw that happen with mine on the day I updated my navi via DVD. That involved the car's ignition being on for over 3 hours and ended up killing my battery. I should have left the engine running apparently. But the point was that the battery was going through hell and kept shutting down and I had to keep taking the key out and putting it back in so the DVD copy would resume, and quite often that clock weirdness would happen. After eventually having to get a new battery, I never ever saw it happen again.

Your battery might need a good charging (or replacing).

I had just driven my car over an hour on the highway going to my son's doctor's appointment. The battery should have been fully charged.

This car has all the safety features on it that were extra like Distronic Plus, the car passing mirror thing, and LED headlights. I doubt they suck up that much electrical power.

Did you happen to cross over a time zone? MB's with COMAND GPS will automatically update the clock when you cross over a time zone. The clock will move in forward clock-wise rotation. Not sure about a beep, as I only had a W211 and R171 that did it - maybe the beep is new for W212. If not, then the only thing that would cause that based on my experience is a low battery. Temp changes can affect the battery.
