Hello, i just changed the oil in my car with amsoil 15w40. I was amazed at the sound difference with the full synthetic. The motor feels more cushioned and i feel good about high rpms with the high quality oil. I use this oil in my tractor and i keep that at full rpms for hours while i use it and it runs great. I highly recommend this for anybody looking for an excellent high quality full synthetic oil for there diesel or gasoline car. I was lucky enough that my local Napa stocks the stuff. I have not seen it anywhere else so i assume that most people will have to order it online.

Synthetic vs dino is often a hotly debated point. But I agree a good synthetic oil makes one heck of a difference. Keep an eye on the MPGs and see if they change too.

When I switched to synthetic, I chose 5-40. The first thing I noticed was more power when cold. The MPG went from 24.5 with 15-40 dyno to 26.5.

Against my better judgement

I'll weigh in on an oil thread.

I too use AMSOIL 15W-40 in my W123 and I use AMSOIL products in every other engine I own from outboard to weed-whacker. My 300CD uses NO oil between 6k mile changes.

I was introduced to it by a neighbor who had 400k miles on an Oldsmobile of all things. As an example of lubricating properties, my old outboard is a 40:1 oil mix engine and I have been running it for years at 100:1 with AMSOIL 2-stroke.

I have used Amsoil 15/40W for years also their 1:100 two cycle in my power saws and weed eaters. Good stuff and well worth the extra cost. IMO
