In about three weeks I'm going to be putting on some Lorinser wheels and Toyo tires on my 05 E55 AMG. The dealer has offered me $800.00 for set of four wheels and tires. The tires, Continentals, have 1800 miles on them and will probably have about 3000 miles when the change out is complete. I'm also going to do the Kleemann pulley, ECU and headers. I"ll let you all know how it works out. Thanks.

Did you buy the E55 wagon? I may contact you once I have mine. I currently run two sets of wheels on my V70R; one with summer tires, the other with snow tires. It makes life easier.

Cheers.

It's the four door sedan. I plan on having the work done in mid April. Unless I have some kind of a deal I guess the dealer will get them. Thanks

Question: Did you mean to say $8,000.00 for the full set or $800.00 for just the skins.
Phone another dealer and inquire as to the cost of a replacement AMG Alloy?

No I said $800. The more I think about it the more I'll keep them for that price. They are for sale, however!! I've seen them on E Bay.

Hello Skywagon.

In Europe they resale for 3000 USD new, so they should be worth quite a bit more than 800 USD.

How do you like the Toyo tires? Are you expecting the same performance as Continental ContiSport2, which I think by far is the best tire for the new E-class (E320 CDI amd E320T 4Matic) in both 18 and 19".

Hello Anson, I've not done the change out yet. However, Kleemann in Coloroda and the tire shop where I'm changing out the wheels and tires both say the Toyos are the best. I'd imagine I wouldn't be able to tell too much difference but of course I wouldn't know until I've done it. I had one gentlemen e-mail me today and we're talking about a deal. We'll see.

So would you consider selling the rear 2 wheels and tires for $400?

Gus, thanks for the offer but I think I'd be shooting myself in the foot if I did that. I've had a couple of descent offers for the whole package as well. Skywagon
