I received an e-mail today about the AMG Challenge. One of the locations is a Chicago suburb during August, and I'm considering whether to go. Has anyone been to one of these events and have any opinions about it? Specifically, did you think it was worth the $1200 admission fee?

AMG Challenge

Good Day Alfonzo.

I went to the 1/2 day challenge last year at the Chicago area venue and have already signed up for this year's whole day event. As I posted in an earlier message, I thought that the event was really worth it. Of course, take into consideration that I am a racing novice and had not done hot laps with a professional driver before. This being acknowledged, however, I thought that instruction was top notch, the experience of doing laps with a professional driver was great, and the change to drive in other AMG models was definitely worth the expense.

I signed up for the Friday session at the Chicago course this year and am already excited about the experience. Although the cost is high, and doesn't get spent easily, I think that I will get a whole summer worth of anticipation. Holler if you sign up and if you go. I would welcome input from another SLK owner.

Yes, I'm in for the AMG Challenge in Joliet on August 18th. I'm having some scheduling problems with work however so I can't be positve yet.

I went last year and the experience of driving a half million dollars worth of automobiles was worth it. I'm going to take the advanced one next summer only because I'd like to wait for some of the AMG63's.
