That's beautiful!...have you tried using a finer grit, maybe #600, on a rubbing pad? It'll give you a satin finish, also, try hand-sanding it in a single longitudinal direction. It'll look very much uniform.
I does have potential.. dosent it..
It would look nice with a black dash..
My gray dash is does not look that nice with the alu.
Since i dont want to replace my black wood.. i did not datail it as i could have done.. i was just wondering if it would look nice..
But its possible toget any finish
..incl. crome like ..
IMO chrome finish may look too shiny. Besides, to have all the 'wood' finish converted to chrome may be a little bit 'over-dressed' since there are just a lot of wood in front of you. Brushed-Aluminium finish or satin finish may just be what you're looking for. You might just want to try browsing through the WWW on some of the after-market car accessories supplier who may provide you with some good info and images. Good luck.
This is a very nitpicky detail, but I've recently been fixing up my '99 e320 after my grandmother giving it to me, not working, of course. Everything functions now other than the high beam flashers. I have already taken the lever out to see if anything obvious was the matter, but it looks okay...
1999 320, not 4matic. Replaced water pump and pulleys. Now I have a check engine light, but all vacuum hoses and tubes look good. Also, engine temp gauge not working. I believe that I broke off a tiny plastic part in the sensor and it’s not connecting. Also, the engine cooling fan stays on all...
Normally insert the key, turn to position 3 and engine starts - just a flick without having to hold the key a second. Now, out of every 10 ignition attempts, at least 1 or 2 times I could expect a delay, having to hold the key a bit longer till the engine starts. Either I keep holding the key...
I'm at my wits end.
Replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, prefilter, glow plug relay, and crankshaft position sensor and my 300d still isnt starting.....rough idled and died out of nowhere a week ago. Someone help me!!
