Hey,

Just wondering if anyone will be able to tell me if i can replace this part 0120489526 with AL80X.

Have you checked that the alternator is definitely kaput.? Sometimes the regulator part on the back fails.

Yeah, I have ordered a new regulator. The AL80X seems quite reasonable price wise compared to a second hand one from a wrecker.

Will pull the alternator off the car tomorrow and inspect the condition.

All my alternator needed was new bearings (plus the new reg)

Were you able to get parts for this old alternator? or did you take it somewhere to be rebuilt?

I took it to a guy here on the gold coast who specialized in alternators. He didn't mention any issues- cost me A$90. Unfortunately he passed away 3 months later.:(
He told me I needed a new regulator as well. Suggested Bosch. The electric windings don't wear out- only bearings etc.
