Hey guys,

Standard tire size on my ml55 is a 285/55-18.

An internet search is saying that a Plus Zero size is 255/55-18.

Isn't a 255 too narrow for my rims? I wouldn't even't think that was an option...

I thought the 55's tires are 285/50/18 not 285/55. In any case, 255 is way too narrow to look good. I really don't thing you can go wider than 285 on the 55's rims. What the 55's rim width and offset? Let's start there.

Here's a great site that can help: Wheel / tire size calculator / comparer - WHEELSMASTER

That's not a plus size. Go to discounttiredirect.com or tirerack.com. Those web sites will calculate a plus size for you ...

255/55/18 WILL fit on your stock ML55 (18 x 9) rims/wheels.

How do I know this?

The unscrupulous dealers in Atlanta, from where I bought my ML55, put cheaper 255/55/18 tyres on it and I didn't realise this till I had shipped the truck out to West Africa.:crybaby2:

At the time I bought the truck I was so excited I forgot to check what tyres were on it.:p

However, it doesn't look skinny at all.

I plan to upgrade to 20" wheels (replica Brabus Monoblock VIs) in the next few months.:D

ps. Stock ML55 tyres are 285/50/18 on 18 x 9 wheels.

Yeah, I know. the 285/55-18 was a typo. I've been looking at so many different models and sized lately that it's all becoming a blur...

Thanks!
