Are the only fuel station at that time going to be electric only?Stunning! I can't wait till they're affordable as second hand cars around year 2030-2035

My son is starting new job building Lucids. I think the 2.5 second car with sleeping recliners in the rear would fit in my garage.
The production will take some time, but I estimate in 2-3 years they incorporate self-driving technology.
It ain't luxury when you have to keep your eyes open.

It's hard to tell which way it's gonna go, the market is defenitely swinging toward electrics / alternatives but hard to tell how big that impact is going to be over the next decade.
Here's a sneak peek at interior - looks like Tesla on steroids. I do hope the prod version will see major changes to the dashboard in terms of materials and finish, otherwise I'm not buying it even in 2040 ;-)

Self driving technology is more than 2 to 3 years away because the cars aren't yet able to communicate with each other in the way they need to for self driving technology to really become a reality. Alternative fuels will become the norm. There were only so many dinosaurs so there's only so much dinosaur rot left to make fossil fuels out of. Furthermore, our planet is telling us on a daily basis that we can no longer burn fossil fuels due to the damage doing so is doing to our planet that threatens human survival. My father was an engineer who understood all of this whan I was growing up so I grew up around this stuff. The ultimate new fuel will be hydrogen. It's supply is limitless and the only by-product of burning it is water. That was my engineer father's solution. MB has been leading the way on developing hydrogen powered cars for decades.
Boy, are the Mercedes sales associates going to earn their commissions trying to explain how to use all the controls this computer on wheels splatters in front of you. Let's face it, the average S-Class buyer who typically is over 60 and financially well set isn't interested in talking to their car or looking for an icon to touch to make it warmer or cooler.
They will be crashing these TV studios on wheels as soon as they leave the dealership (maybe that's why the A-Pillar looks as thick as a telephone pole in the video?). Seems unrestricted outward visibility wasn't a big design requirement for the new S-Class. Why bother? You can watch yourself crash on the movie screen on your console.
Remember when chasing down a CEL was expensive. Wait (assuming you are still under warranty) until you get a black screen and find yourself sitting on the side of the road in a very comfortable 'brick' while waiting for your free roadside service truck to arrive.
An out of warranty 2021 S-Class Mercedes will be close to worthless in the used market.

Have S class 2019 (AMG Line). Hope 2021 will fix my major issues: (1) Tires too thin. 1 1/2" from wheel rim to pavement. Would be 2 1/2" had I got 18" wheels. Have broken tires on trips. Definitely a city car, not for long distance road trips. What is best available wheel to pavement distance? Am guessing for 2021 is 2 1/2" for the smallest 19" wheels. (2) Cannot use automatic car wash - front camera usually comes out. Brushes can tear off camera door for $450. - 3 day fix. (3) Can tear off front bumper in parking lot. Did this 2 days after buying car. Am very careful now. Will get luxury version, not AMG line, next time. Will front bumper be higher?
