A simple/ free first-line start?

Check Battery Condition. Voltage, Fluid-Level, Conductance Testing- (Free Checks are typically offered "most" battery vendors, such as Interstate Battery.... Assuming you are USA based.. Please complete your Profile). Also make sure the Alternator Output Voltage is Normal.

If Battery/Voltage/Charging Ok? I would simply Disconnect the Battery, and Leave Disconnected for an Hour, or so, then Re-Connect.

See if this "Resets" the Computer's Brain. These Modern Cars, with all of their Gizmoses-Networks, Computers, Controllers, etc? are quite "Sensitive" to Voltage, and can go Bonkers quite easily with Under/Over-Voltage.

Please Report Back.

By key I think he means the physical key you can take out of our remotes, and use the keyhole in the boot underneath the licence plate. That should open up with the physical key even if your battery is flat

Does the car start and drive okay? If yes then the switch solenoid could be faulty. An easy way to check is to get another compatible switch and swap them over. If everything works but the car wont start its the switch.

Of course, this isn't an easy way if you cant get another switch:rolleyes:
