Unlocking the doors should normally turn off the alarm IF the sensors in the doors are functional and the factory alarm module is working OK.

You may want to try by bypassing the factory alarm as shown below

On my former 92 300E, I turn of the alarm by turning the ignition on. There must be some short or faulty sensor somewhere in the alarm system. Try to fix it instead of disabling, IMO it's a good system.

Anke sometimes 'ignores' the door switch that says 'the door is unlocked... shut up!'. :p

Usually when there's lots of people around...

I just 'unlock' the door again to shut it up.
If it wont work try the other door and/or trunk...

Works for me!

I have self-locking problem on my new purchased W210. It sucks when the car lock itself with the key in the ignition, even when the engine is off, but good for me that was at selling dealer shop and they had tools and knowledge to deal with it.
So the thread in W210 section come to the conclusion that the culprit most likely is the trunk lock activating central locking and alarm.
Sounds like that is very likely case here as well. I am still working on figuring out my (my son) problem, so good luck on yours.
