Mercedes w220 1999 AIRmatic..

I change valve on the top of the strut, and of course whole air leaks outside sturt... now when I install all back, I have problem with bottom of strut.. It is look like strut cant "seat" nice on gum in bottom, and of course there it leak air... I do all thing myself, and later saw WIS/ASRA and all steps are OK..
whole assembly is new, rapaired.. but I had problems with valve..
i try set pictures, but i dont know how..

Any ideas are welcome..

Thanx

It sounds to me as though the air bag inside the strut has a leak or a tear - if so, you will need to replace the strut. You do not tell us where you are living, but Arnott Industries (North America) has rebuilt struts for approximately ¼ the cost of new ones from Mercedes.

well, this is story...

I bought NEW remanufactured strut.. everything was OK, but after some time it start leaking at the top... that leaking causes that whole 12bars of air leak outside strut, and that causes that happend to me, what is describe in WIS/ASRA manual i attached... now I think I solve leaking on the top, but I cant fit down side of strut, on picture...

I have warranty for strut, but first I try to solve my problem , because I should pay shipping fee about 250E, and that isn cost effective for me..

Remanufactured struts are not the way to go, cheap parts always cost more than new in the end, send it back and get another.

I went through the same thing with a cheap strut

Remanufactured struts are not the way to go, cheap parts always cost more than new in the end, send it back and get another.
I bought my car(2000 S430) and the previous owner changed the right front strut from an online company at the cost of $358 no core charge. The strut did not even last a year. You get what you pay for.
It was leaking from the bottom. I bought a pair of Arnotts and have never been happier. I would recommend replacing both(not necessary from what I have read on hear but if one is gone the other cannot be that far behind)
You might have to be careful now with returning it sometimes these remanufactures do not like it when you try to repair yourself first.
