The pump failed last night. So today i just took it to the dealer and told them to replace it. 900.00. My clock spring is also bad $500.00. I may do that myself. Has anyone done the clock spring?

Why did your airmatic pump fail?

Its behind the airbag in the steering wheel. I think the tech fixed it??? The SRS light is off and he left the tools used to remove the steering wheel in the car by accident:confused:

I think thats a lot for the pump.
Mine went out last month and replaced pump and relay for $650.

I think $900 is too much for the pump too.
I have an appointment this week to replace the pump and the relay, and the quote is $640, at a dealer too.
Did you go to Euro Motorcars?
Did they do the SDS pneumatic test after the pump was replaced?
Was the relay changed too?

Ouch, that pump is only about $300, and install is quite simple.

But then again at euro motorcars, thats no surprise.

I agree, Euro Motorcars charges more because of the DC vicinity.

I would not change the pump myself to save $50 on the pump and then not being able to perform any test and have no warranty.

I will update this weekend on how my replacement went...

Finally changed airmatic pump and relay, around $600.
SDS pressure test performed, new HELLA relay and 12 months warranty on the pump.

Somehow your town's name goes so well with the car you have ;)

What was going on that they started checking on the clock spring? Was that the SRS light being off or something else? Can the clock spring cause windshield wiper problems?
