A little searching using terms in your question would have gotten you the answers quickly:

1) You likely have a leak in the upper seals of your front struts.
2) Your Airmatic pump may have burned out because of trying to keep the struts inflated when they had a serious leak, and likely needs replacement.
3) You should probably replace the Airmatic relay as well, as a precaution.
4) The car needs to be diagnosed and repaired by a qualified MB tech - either at the dealer or a good independent MB shop.

Could anybody reveal the location of the airmatic pump relay switch? Also what serial number to look for on the switch? My problem: The Airmatic warning light comes on after driving about 5-6 miles. When I press the airmatic button on the upper dash, I get "Car rising/Airmatic warning in successions. I bought the "HELLA" switch and swapped it out, (I know where that one goes), but I did not get any reaction when I pressed the button. I do not hear the pump like I used to and when I stop, and park, turn the car off I 'used" to hear a "Sw-o-oosh" then the car went silent. This has not happened in about 3 weeks, the car is not out of alignment height-wise, but I'm afraid one day, I will suffer the same fate that I have been reading about. I will take the car in on Monday, but, I really want to know what has happened before my visit....ANY help would be pricewless.

Skylaw has just answered all your questions except the relay and its location is left rear of the engine compartment in the relay/fuse box. In your tool kit (in the boot) you should find a relay/fuse diagram.

The bottomline is you have to take it to a dealer/specialist because they are the only ones with DAS and the special tool to do the strut mod.

Thanks, Eric:

And if anything different, I will post it. We need to "bone-up" on anything we can find out and share it,

Thanks again.
