I've just read the post copied below on the "General" section of this forum.

Surely it's not right - is it?


"I believe that on your S-500, the compressor is always on, just waiting for you to tell the car to blow cold air, so no point in not turning on the a/c."

I actually don't have the provision on turning off the a/c at all.

Well I do with the EC button. But I believe that just de-clutches the compressor.

With new cars the compressor doesn't have clutch anymore but is instead switched on at all times.

Even new golfs don't have a clutch anymore.
