Hi, I have an 02 ml320, and the the flaps inside the air vents which where the A/C or hot air comes out of, and are on a motor, keep opening and closing, even when the vehicle is off.

You can here the noise of the motor working almost all the time, generally stops of 5 minutes past start up, but this problem is killing my battery.

I took a flash light to look inside the air vent, and i can see a circular type thing opening and closing inside. How can I fix this problem, or temporarily get it to stop?

Thanks!

Here is a video I took of the problem. If you look carefully you can see the motor inside moving, and also the noise its making.

This pertains to the three vents above the GPS unit:

Mechanical stop on sleeve that drives center vent flap is broken. Problem is that after replacement zero position of the flap has to be adjusted using SDS.
