Based on the exploded view, item 47 is the thicker washer of the two and sits to the right, so it looks like that is what you did in the pics as well.

Can someone explain to me what part #29 in needmog his exploded view is? I found that also in my 78 416, together with a little pipe almost at the portal. But i don't know where it belongs because it was loose in the axle.. :confused:

Looks to me like it's a clip that holds part # 35 (seal ring) onto part # 32 (piston)
If you found yours loose in the axle, chances are the seal ring has or will come off as well.

That is the portal box vent tube for the rear portals. Like the fronts, the rears need to be vented as well to the center axle housing. Those tubes are to keep the oil from flowing into the portal when the truck is leaning hard to the sides.
