Okay, I admit that I may be the only person interested in this question...
I had a 2003 S430. It had this air intake tube on the left side.
Note the vents - nice touch. This is part number A 113 094 27 82, and the vendors online say that this part fits CL500, S430, S500 & S55 AMG, 2000 - 2006.
I now have a 2003 S500, and it has the same tubes. The right tube is in poor shape, the left (this one) is okay.
I just picked up a good set of intake tubes from a 2003 S500 in the local pull-a-part. When I started to install them, I realized that the vents were missing, but the tubes are otherwise identical.
The vendors all say that this A 113 094 12 82 fits CL500, S55 AMG, CL55 AMG 2000 - 2006.
Strange. The CL500 and S55 AMG can use vented or unvented, S430 and S500 should have vented, but this S500 didn't.
No doubt that either version will get air to the engine, but I just wonder is there is actually any functional difference in the two types. The vented ones are prettier and cost twice as much...
