I've had two competent diagnosies of leaks in my compressor with quotes to repair between $1,700 and $2,200. Is there anything I can do myself... cheaper?
Will this cause a seize up if I don't use it? I'm told there's oil leaking, not to mention it's losing freon.

It's already cold in Germany...

I bet your heater kicks ass...
I have the same problem, as do other 107 enthusiast I have spoken with.

I would say you are getting hosed. Although 107's have a good reputation all around, they are not known for thier AC systems. I would bet that you could get a whole new system for $2200, not just a " repair". I know it's not much of a comfort-put the top down...

Hey Marcus,

Thanks for the feedback!
You're right about the heater, but who needs that in the summer in Texas?!

Say, your picture... is that the same car I saw yesterday on my first ever visit to the site, with the surfboard sticking out?
If I recall it had over 220,000 miles on it !
Very cool!

I may bug you about the AC again... I was interested in your comments.

Thanks,

Jan Brans
