Hello,
Recently purchased a 1998 C280 at about 90K miles that has an air conditioner issue. The compressor doesn't run and the EConomy light stays on. I have read that this can be caused by a faulty sensor and that it can be diagnosed based on the readings obtained from the climate control panel.

I have retrieved the readings but don't know what they should be. If anyone could take a look at the readings and let me know your interpretation, I would appreciate it.

I have the same problem with my 97 C200 Komp, and am looking for the fix, too. I had read somewhere that if you press-and-hold the EC button for 10 seconds, it would go out. Sure enough, it works -- and the AC compressor kicks on, runs cold just fine. It's a workaround, but will get you AC. I'm hoping someone replies with what causes the problem - and how to fix.

Texan2, I will try that tonight.

300B, thanks for the reply and direction. Can you tell me which parameter indicates this and what it means along with a good place to pick up the aforementioned part?

Once again, thanks for the help.
