I have a 2001 CLK I have been having a lot of problems with my air conditioner. Just recently air has been blowing out of the vents even when my car is off. Also it makes a loud noise when i'm driving. I was wondering if ne one has had the same problems and knows what to do. thanks

Re: air conditioning problem

i have a 1999 CLK430 and I'm having problems w/ my AC as well. I just went to get my freeon refilled, however the shop tested for pressure, and said i didn't need a refill. The problem is that the AC only stays cold for about 3 minutes, then just blows out warm air. Something is sending a signal to the compressor to shut off after 3 minutes of running. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
AL
I’ve seen this problem before -- the compressor may be functioning properly; but the fan that blows on the condenser coil isn't operating, or there is something blocking the airflow across the condenser coil. The condenser coil is the "outside" half and will be located under the hood someplace, normally next to the radiator.

I had the same problem as well with my 2002 CLK anyway what my service advisor told me was that the motor regulator for the fan wasnt giving out the proper voltage and that it fluctuated from like 0 to something else. anyway, they replaced the regulator and everything is perfect.
