I was replacing my air filters and took the air box out and now that I want to go back the clips that hold it in the rear will not let it slide back. When I took it out the clips popped just poped off. Do I need to take the top brace off. It looks like a lot of work. Has anyone replaced their filters? Any help would be great. Thanks

I am planning on doing mine soon. According to the factory service instructions, the top brace needs to be removed first. Having not done it, I have no idea how important that step is...

Just replaced my air filters this afternoon. Easy process not more than 20 minutes, first remove the front half of the engine cover, remove the 4 bolts on the center cross brace (2 left, 2 right), then remove the center bolt a long torex (use a small star socket) remove the long weather strip and the cross brace will come out. The back half of the engine cover contains the air filters, right in the center of thecover and directly in the back is a wire clip push this back toward the rear of the car, disconnect both air ducts (L&R) coming from the front of the vehicle and the small hose in front (L-side). Lift up and slide the entire engine cover out, flip the cover over and you will see 4 torex bolts loosen (do not remove) and pop-off the cover (L&R side) remove air filters, clean housing and re-install new). Use same procedure (in reverse) to reinstall, the cover will pop back on and the rest is easy. It took me not more than 20 minutes and I was taking my time, hope this helps.
