Good morning,

I recently purchased a 2013 E350 convertible. I have discovered that the "aircap" feature does not work. When I press the button, while the rear wind screen between the seats raises the actual aircap across the top of the windshield does not raise. Any ideas as where to begin diagnosing the problem or what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

The electric motor may be fried. I had to replace the entire aircap on my 2015, though I suppose I could've removed the Aircap myself and try to diagnose/repair the motor. I didn't have the time or a facility to work on it, so I paid the stealership. I do like having a working Aircap, but the downside is the periodic maintenance of cleaning out bugs and debris that can get caught in the mesh. However, the reduced road noise is worth it.
