aftermarket sway bars

anybody using aftermarket sway/stabiliser bars?

im interested in upgrading to H&R bars so that i can stiffen up the handling on my 2005 sport package without having to lower the car more.

just wondering any positive or negative feedback on this modification? I know there is a few different companies making these bars, including AMG. Just wondering what peoples opinions are... is it a worthwhile mod that i will notice, or a waste of time?

while on the subject, anybody ever found a "strut" bar for a C class? as in the one in the engine bay accross the top of the suspension towers? and does it give benefits?

I've looked for a Strut bar but I had to mill my own brackets and use the bar from an Accord. Eibach makes a killer swaybar, I've only read good things about them and have ridden in a 2005 C sedan with them and it was great.
I have the eibach swaybar's twice the size of stock bars, man what a differance.Well worth the $$$.

geez Lynn thanks for the all that info!!
very helpful

still cant decide though, probabaly i would get Eibach or H&R matching front and rear set

and i presume the * is a brand you have forgotten?
will a c32 bar work on a c55? I would like to dial out the understeer by adding a stiffer rear bar. Also are any rear bars adjustable? Thanks Sean
That's pretty nice - where did you get it?

Lynn, you are back... Haven't seen your posts in a long time. Welcome back!
rlee02135,
Does the site you've posted has a translation to it? All I got were in German or something. Your engine looks exactly like mine and I have a 2005 C230K SS, will that sway bar fit in a 2005? I've been looking for a sway bar for a very long time and was never able to find one. I've also looked at eibach and I don't see one for my car. Can anyone help me?

not stocked for c230 ss

It seems that Eibach does not stock the anti-roll bars for the C230 sport sedan. Its only available for the C280/c320 which are also w203 chassis. Shouldnt they fit though? Other than that, who else would stock this part for our cars? I'll research and get back to you all.
I would think so, especially after looking at the photos. The engine are exactly alike, and it fit his C230.
it appears that they aren't also listed for my c55 anyone know of fitment issues or any bars for the c55? Also if anyone has used any other suspension components let me know. Thanks Sean

This post is pure gold for sway bars!
Wondering how difficult, if at all possible, to adapt these bars to an old 86 300E?
