I have a 2005 clk500 cabbie that doesn't have the factory bluetooth or factory phone pad in the dcenter console installed. It has the buttons for the mercedes help in the center console and the SOS button on the overhead and the dashboard cycles through to the Tel display but has no functionality. I'm looking for an aftermarket bluetooth adapter to use the car's systems to connect to a phone and do the hands-free dialing and talking.

What is a good aftermarket system to install? Is it something I can do myself? Is most of the system already installed or will I have to add a bunch of MB parts to get it to work?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bob,
This might be like the blind leading the blind because I just picked-up my CLK Saturday! Anyway, I've been surfing the forums for a couple of weeks now and came across Cartronics. They have a bluetooth system that connects to the CD Changer. It's a little pricy, but I'm not sure what other options there are if you want to use your steering wheel controls.

My CLK bluetooth

Hello Bob,
I installed a bluetooth system in my car last week. It is PARROT. I think it is a frech brand (not sure). The model is CK3000EVO. Once you have accessed to the back of your audio system, it is just plug and play. You just have to identify the mute cable.

I have also added another system from PARROT called MULTICAN. Connected to the CK3000EVO and your car can bus, it allows me to use the buttos of the steering wheel, volume and phone.

This kit also has voice recognition.

I hope this info help you.

Cartronics in the best Option

Hi Bob,
I installed my bluetooth from Mobridge. It is the same as the Cartronics one but less expensive at the time. It uses all the buttons already installed in the car and includes connectivity for your Ipod to replace your CD changer. It was very easy to do and maybe took 30 minutes. Mobridges prices have hence gone up and Cartronics usually runs deals for this. I would recommend looking at the Cartronics website and the install videos as it will answer most questions. THe nice thing about Cartronics is when you call them the owner usally answers and is very helpful. THis is more expensive than Parrot but is a much better option and makes it look like it came with the car. Hope this helps
