Advice on Purchasing a 1984 sl560
Hi all, I'm new to the forum and need some help selecting a car. I've been looking at a 1984 560sl. It's gorgeous and I'm ready to jump, but when I brought my brother by to take a look he immediately said he'd never heard of the 84 sl560, and thought they'd only started making them in 1986. He says it might be a "gray market" car. I was hoping for some advice. The asking price is $6900, down from over $10,000. It's from a (supposedly reputable) local dealership, and it has all its service records. 147,000 miles, rebuilt engine, great cosmetics. Anything about the authenticity, price, etc would be great.
