Does anyone know why hydraulic fluid gushed and leaked from the reservoir cap from the fluid tank when I started the car while it was on the lift? It stopped when I turn the ignition off but leaked again all over the ground when started again. I lost probably 1liter. after I cleaned up the spill, I did top it back off when I lowered it down.
I have a 2001 sl600 and reside in Arizona.

You should have close to the High/ low ADS switch at your left on your dashboard a small red switch which avoids that kind of problem .
If I had well understood its way of working ..it's a kind of fluid locking when you lift your car ..if it's not engaged and especially if you make your engine run the ADS computer does'nt undestand what's going on and makes all fluid reflow towards the reservoir .
