Well just like the title says, my dad just bought a 2005 s500 from our neighbor who was the original owner. i know this community may look down on the w220, but i like ALL Mercedes. i haven't really gotten a chance to compare the 2, but the w220 is very nice. i will post pictures in a bit

nice....every new car purchase always bring a level of excitement to the regular day-to-day life...but wouldn't it be more appropriate to post pictures and announcement on a W220 new ownership in the W220 forum?

Thanks guys, this thread actually has more posts than the thread i put in the w220 section:D everything is working good on the car. i know what you mean about the 600 and the v12, i want that engine in a 2006 CL but my dad said it was unnecessary:crybaby2: @ NHZ i'm not sure, the air matic works perfectly, you can feel it raise and lower when you adjust the height, and i can hear it working, its not really a hissing though. the closest thing to a hissing is when the car is off then after 5 or so minutes you can hear it adjusting a bit, but when the car starts again it raises to proper ride height.

okay yours functions :) drive safe. i am going to get a m275 with the bi turbo(s600 04-06) as my next car.
they can be very good cars or very bad cars, just buy a newer one and get it inspected before you buy it. the s600 or cl600 are very impressive cars, my friends dad used to own one until he traded it for a jaguar xk-r, i remember he opened it up one day going to wisconsin, going 100+ mph while getting a massage is a nice feeling:D

i had a 2000 s500 and everything was horrible(one owner and serviced also lorinser package) there is only one reason why i want the 04-06 s600 and that is the twin turbo v12 :D also the older w220 had electrical issues.

Me too :)
Looking for C215 (CL-Class) Post facelifed V12 Biturbo for my next car !

For my view, W220 I want are 'cool' seat and V12 Biturbo only.
I agree with the cool seat, but I think we can custom aftermarket that in a C140; that and slightly more driect steering would be my only requests...

As for bi turbo - sorry, I can't agree with that!! - too difficult to balance the steering on the throttle mid corner when at revs. The Ferrari F50 sets the standard, normally aspirated is the way to go IMHO.

I think difficult to set 'cool' seat at C140
Since there have a fan under the seat....

To compare Ferrari, Cornering is weaker among CL-class.
Maybe ADS (C140) or ABC (C215) can help some.

But I like V12 that the Powerful torque at low rpm, great throttle response at mid rpm
Quiet, comfort and all the luxury thing inside the car.

But, I really concern the AIRMATIC or ABC.

Nice acquisition comrade!!!

Yeh that's a good year W220, at least its not as problematic as the earlier versions of this generation.

The colour is nice, but I prefer the W220 in black! Imagine hope fresh that will look if all 3 cars in that garage are black! Lol, your neighbors will think you are Mafia, they will never complain about u and mind their own business lol..

I see you like to mountain bike? Lol

I agree the ABC in the 215 is amazing, when it works - hence we are complimenting the year of purchase.

Good point about ADS...

Still, I think there is an opportunity to go custom if funds permit, to maintain all the amazing benefits of the 140 you cite and yet just tighten the steering response a little bit. What I have in mind would be to see if we could get something approaching the E38 sharpness, with all the Benz serenity.:)

Who knows, all abstract at this point...
