Check engine light on. Dealer says Ad Blue Level Sensor needs to be replaced. $2000+.

So questions are, is the level sensor separate from the heater and heater sensor?
If it is just the level sensor, do I even need to worry about it? or will I get the countdown eventually?

I will say that the entire DEF system that MB uses is complete horse crap.

Likely it will come to cont-down.
It is crap to make no replaceable parts on $2k + tank, but similar it is with $1300 4M front axle where failed CV joint can't be bought separately.
The sensor is sonar technology, so not likely aftermarket will go for cheaper options.

Yes... horse crap... I replaced mine as a weekend DIY project. What I learned was there are only 3 main parts for this section of the DEF system. The DEF Heater, the DEF Pump and the DEF Tank. Did MB Dealer replace the heater?
