Hey guys, I’ve just finishing painting my 190E with acrylic enamel (arctic white) I’m wondering how long do I have to wait before I buff and wax her, put the trunk emblems back on etc. I’ve heard a slew of answers ranging from 48 hours to 6 weeks. Any insight would be appreciated.

Did you paint it yourself? Did you use an accelerator for the paint? You could buff/color sand in a day and put the labels on. I'd wait a few weeks before sealing it with any kind of wax.

Hi,
If you used the right reducer according to the temp of the environment you are shooting in and compatible products, we usually Wait 3 months unless heat dried. If you wax it, you will seal the paint causing blistering, not a pretty site all chemicals need time to evaporate from the paint. There are products made for fresh paint if you wish to cut and buff it, thats about all you can do at this point. Of coarse its you call.

Regards

Interesting stuff, we of course used an acrylic enamel reducer cut it down to probably about 60/40, it was a really thin paint to begin with. Warmed the garage to 70 degrees F, time dried, not heat. Let it sit for 2 days. So the end state is that I will wait. No need to rush it.
