I know the fuel relay lies behind the battery on my 1989 190E. How, though, do I safely remove the cover between the battery and the component itself?

Is it simply a matter of prising off the cover with a screwdriver?

And is replacing the relay with a new one a fairly simple procedure? I've never attempted it before.

Pull the weather strip piece above the panel straight off. Then just pull on the plastic cover and it will come right off. there's no nuts/bolts holding it on. replacing a relay is just pull old one out and insert new one.
