Not sure if this is normal or not, but I have to push my gas pedal in about 2 or 3 cm before anything happens?


Is this just a Mercedes/W202 thing? I'm used to touching the trottle and getting instant response instead of having to move it through "dead air" first.

Can it be adjusted at all?

You could try the sprint booster that some people use. It's basically remaps the throttle response, but it's essentially just making it go sooner, tho that sounds like what you are after. Do lots of research first in case there's anything I haven't heard on the negative side.
Are you certain the throttle cable and spring don't just need lubed? Maybe it's binding up somewhere. Also, what model W202 do you have? It makes a difference.

I think "remapping the pedal" would only work on drive by wire cars, but then you mention checking the throttle cable/spring?

Not sure what mine has but I'd be suprised if a 1994 car was drive by wire, will check later though and see if it can be loosened a bit, not a big deal really.

MBs are known for slow throttle tip-in. You'll get used to it quickly, but wont realize you're used to it until you get behind the wheel of a non-MB and hit the gas a bit too hard.

I believe it works by causing the throttle position sensor to react earlier, but I am not entirely certain. Your car isn't drive by wire but still has several electronic components for throttle. I actually don't advise the sprint booster, because getting used to it is easier, safer and free.
