my air conditioning was working fine until it started to get real hot. now whenever i turn it on it immediately blows the fuse, and hot air blows out the vents even when nothing is on. a check engine light came on about the same time, i looked it up, and it says something about idle speed sensor. could these problems be related? i figured it was a short or something was drawing too many amps but i haven't had a chance to take a good look at it. does anyone know where i should start?

A/C and CEL

Well the CEL should be what it says on the code. Have you checked you engine wiring harness lately? Which fuse is it blowing?

90 models will not have a harness issue. Yes, what fuse is blowing?

Good Luck,

Wiring Harness

Yes from 89-95 as far as I know all models have a wiring harness issue possibly. V8's more than any other due to compartment heat, and upper harness more than lower.

It has been narrowed down to the 93-97's for the wiring harness issue... in all ranges... it has nothing to do with heat... they used biodegradeable plastic sheathing and it starts to break down WAY too quickly.

Wiring harness

Not trying to change the thread but the heat from the engine bay is what helped the wires biodegrade. That why most of the rest of the car doesnt do it. Image it a slow cooking. I have helped people with earlier years with the same problem so I am not with you on the years. :surrender:
