AC worked and was cold before. Got a premium ceramic tint (Huper Optik) today and it's like getting a new AC in this South Texas heat - lower heat load really helped the AC cool down faster - the blower never really seems to blow hard like a modern car - probably because of the funky way the center vents share too much flow with the lower vents - but I'm very much impressed with the tint. I noticed an IMMEDIATE difference in the heat inside the car when I picked it up - normally sitting outside in afternoon sun would be blazing hot - felt like a garaged vehicle when I first got in it today. It's the best $373 spent so far.

Not to mention that they also look good when tinted (black tint, I'm not sure about that chrome looking stuff). Got pics?

while we're on the subject of window tinting-- I'm considering getting the rear windows tinted on my white '85 wagon. Any downside to doing so? If anyone has a pic of a white wagon with dark tint, I'd love to see what it looks like....

My 2 cents on tint for any car. There is a "mirror like" tint that has a barely perceptible difference (maybe only like 5% tint) than regular glass. Makes it look just a bit shinier, but lets the LEO's look in and still keeps it cool while providing a bit more privacy.

RE: tint %

I'm not sure of the actual tint % of the Huper Optik stuff I bought - doesn't look as dark as the 35% (highest legal sides in TX) on my truck, but heat blocking is terrific. I'd post pics, but I'm out of town for the week.
