Hi.
I have a 1995 E280 (w124).
I have a a noise in my AC-compressor (I am 90% sure this "clicking noice" is from the AC-compressor).
Is this a normal failure? Can I rebiuld it, or do I have to buy a new one?
Are the cheap AC-compressors on ebay OK, or should I get an OEM (I have not checked how much they cost, but I have a fealing thay are expensive).
Thanks!

- First make sure the issue is actually A/C compressor.
- Does the noise occur when A/C is turned off ?
- It could be clutch bearing, just remove the V belt and check for compressor pulley play.

Yes you can rebuild compressor if it is clutch bearing or leaking seal. You can get the kits from here Automobile Air Conditioning Parts of Tucson Arizona, Century Auto Air, AC Parts, AC Service and Hoses, centuryautoair.com. Rebuilt compressor from reputed source on Ebay should be fine too.

See http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w12...urrecting-c-system-starting-c-compressor.html
In the links you have posted 1st one is aftermarket no name, avoid it. Genuine Denso 10PA17C is OEM.

But check if noise is from pulley bearing or clutch before ordering complete compressor.

Edit: +1 for above post.
To do this, I just remove the V belt and check for compressor pulley play?
Yes
