No, the steering wheel for the AMG car will not fit the ealry 190E/d models. The stock Nippendenso compressor that is in your car should work just fine for 134Aunless you live in the desert.

I was told the Nippondenso we know have the 10PA15C will swap easily with the later 10PA17C which is found on the later 300E models. Does anyone know if this is true?

Don't waste your time retrofitting for R134a. There is a gas coming out of Australia called Durocool. It's much cooler, puts less stress on your a/c system, leaks less and best of all involves no retrofitting. You just need to find someone who supplies it.

Also, does anyone what I need to do to put a 10P17C Nippondenso AC compressor in place of the less powerful 10P15C compressor? I need more AC power for an R134a conversion.

No, your really don't. Your stock compressor will work fine with r134a, and it will blow ice cold. Installing a too-large compressor is not a good idea. A too-large compressor can cause the core to ice up, which will actually give you less cooling.
